The Triathlon is an annual event based at the Clearfield Community Pool. Laps of the pool ( 1 mile ) are preceded by a
1 mile foot race through the surrounding neighborhood and a 3 mile bike ride through the same area . . .
. . . the swimming portion was cut a bit short on this day by a lightning storm.

The day had started a bit dreary but was pretty nice by the time the kids hit the water . . .
. . . though by about 9:10 the sky
had turned ominous.

A flash of lightning at about 9:15
and Coach Mo wisely pulled the plug.
Dam Swim at Curwensville Lake, July 19, 2018~
Also held annually, the Dam Swim takes place at nearby Curwensville Lake. Two laps around a roughly
triangular, half-mile, course ( 1 mile total ) defined by spotters in canoes and kayaks.
Unlike last year, no fog to burn off -  an absolutely beautiful day.
And, unlike Tuesday, no lightning bolts either!

An event held at a huge venue like the Dam requires lots of help and we're always lucky to get it.
Even parents of kids who graduated years back stopped by to pitch in.

While looking at the pictures of the kids getting their workouts
I'd also suggest that you look at the backgrounds.

We're so lucky to have two such outstanding facilities as
the Community Pool and the Curwensville Lake
right here in our backyard.
