Triathlon at the Community Pool, July 11, 2019 ~

The Triathlon is an annual event based at the Clearfield Community Pool. Laps of the pool (1 mile) are preceded by a
mile run through the surrounding neighborhood and a 3 mile bike ride including parts of the rails-to-trails . . .

It all begins with the run . . .

. . . and they're off . . .

Before you know it, around six minutes later, they start coming back . . .

. . . switching from their Nikes to their Bikes . . .

And after the bike ride a "refreshing dip" in the pool ~

Also held annually, the Dam Swim takes place at nearby Curwensville Lake. Two laps around a roughly
triangular, half-mile, course ( 1 mile total ) defined by spotters in canoes and kayaks.
Here the swim takes place in open water so there can be no rest at the end of a lap like at the pool.
As I comment nearly every year, I hope everyone appreciates how lucky we are to have such
beautiful facilities like the Community Pool and Curwensviile Lake right in our own backyards.
